Accessibility statement
Everyone in Greater Victoria should be able to book an electrician. This page explains how we work toward that on this website.
Our commitment
Amped Electrical Contracting, operated by Amped Electrical Contracting LTD, is committed to making this website accessible to everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or other assistive technology. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and we treat accessibility as ongoing work.
What we've done so far
Measures currently in place across this site:
- Semantic HTML. Pages use proper landmarks, headings, lists, and labels so screen readers can move through pages by structure.
- Skip links. Every page starts with a "Skip to content" link so keyboard users can jump past the header.
- Keyboard-navigable menus. The main navigation and mobile menu can be operated with a keyboard alone.
- Checked colour contrast. Our red, black and white colours are chosen to meet WCAG AA contrast ratios for text and interactive elements.
- Reduced motion. Our stylesheet honours the
prefers-reduced-motionsetting, so animations are minimized for people who turn motion off in their operating system. - Descriptive links and form labels. Links say where they go, and form fields have visible labels.
Known limitations
Some parts of the site still fall short. Some illustrations (like the stylized map on our contact page) show information visually, so screen-reader users need the nearby text. Some older blog content may have images with imperfect alternative text, and third-party services we link to may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA. We review these areas as we update the site.
