Residential services
Our founder has wired Greater Victoria homes since 2004, from single dead outlets to full new-construction packages.
New construction
Full wiring for new homes, from temporary power through rough-in and finish. We work from the builder's drawings, time rough-in around framing and insulation, and handle the Technical Safety BC permit and inspections.
Renovations
Suites, kitchens, bathrooms and additions. We plan circuits around the new layout and bring the affected work up to BCEC 2024. Suites include the sub-panel, interconnected smoke alarms and the other items inspectors check first.
Automation & security
Smart-home systems, networked lighting control, and rough-in for security, cameras and AV. We also set up load management so an EV charger and a heat pump can share your existing service.
Lighting design
Pot lights, under-cabinet lighting, dimming and garden lighting, inside and out. We plan the layout and switching before drywall, or plan the retrofit after.
Electrical upgrades
Panel and service upgrades, knob-and-tube rewires, aluminum wiring repairs. Panel upgrades →
Generators & backup power
Standby generators and transfer switches, sized for what has to stay on in an outage.
Green technology
EV chargers (we help with the rebate paperwork) and heat pump circuits. EV chargers →
General service work
Diagnostics, repairs and small installs, billed for the time and materials used.
Common problems
If your symptom isn't listed, book a diagnostic and we'll trace it.
Tripping breakers
Won't reset, or trips again under load. Usually an overloaded circuit, a ground fault or an old breaker.
Dead outlets
Often a tripped GFCI upstream, a loose push-in connection or a failed outlet.
Burning smell
If there's smoke, or the smell is getting stronger, get out and call 911. Otherwise turn off that breaker if it's safe to reach and call us.
Panel buzzing or humming
Usually a loose connection or a failing breaker. We aim to find it on the first visit.
Knob-and-tube found
Flagged by an insurer, realtor or renovator. We map it and scope the rewire.
Code corrections
Failed an inspection or insurance audit. We bring the work up to BCEC 2024, under permit.
Hot panel cover
A warm panel face means something is wrong. Turn off the main if you can reach it, then call.
Half-house outage
Half the lights and outlets are out. Usually a lost neutral or a fault in an older split-bus panel. Treat it as urgent.
How a service call works
Book online or call
Pick the service, address and timing. We'll get back to you by text or email to confirm a time.
Your electrician arrives
You get a text when your electrician is on the way. Uniform, ID and a van with the Amped logo.
Clear billing
Your electrician finds the cause and explains the fix. Service calls are billed for the time and materials used (no diagnostic fee for members).
How service calls are billed
Service calls are billed for the time and materials used. Bigger jobs, like panel upgrades, EV chargers and renovations, are different: need a quote? We can provide one when required.
What membership includes
One included service visit (your choice of six), 10% off labour, no diagnostic fee and priority booking.
