Common jobs in Oak Bay
K&T rewires & 60A service upgrades
Much of Oak Bay predates the Second World War, and 60-amp services with knob-and-tube are still common. We rewire in stages and bring the service to 200A, usually without opening finished walls.
View service RenovationsHigh-end renovation wiring
Kitchen and whole-home renovations with layered lighting, integrated controls, and separate circuits for wine storage and radiant floors. We work alongside your builder and designer.
View service Uplands & beyondUnderground services & EV chargers
Uplands services are underground, so upgrades and chargers can involve trenching, conduit and BC Hydro coordination. We include it all in the quote.

Insurance, rewires and underground services
Many Oak Bay calls start with an insurance renewal: an inspector finds knob-and-tube or a 60-amp service and sets a deadline. Our founder, Esteban Torres, has been doing this work since 2004, and we document it in the format brokers ask for.
Permits go through Technical Safety BC, and we book the inspections. We coordinate BC Hydro design for underground services. For EV chargers, we help with the rebate paperwork. We handle the electrical side of heat pump installs (the circuit, disconnect and panel capacity) and work with your heating contractor.
Oak Bay questions
No. We fish new cable from the attic and crawlspace through existing cavities where we can, and cut only small access holes, so wall repairs stay small.
There's no legal requirement, but plan on it. Many insurers refuse 60A services, and they can't carry modern loads. We take most Oak Bay homes straight to 200A.
It adds steps: BC Hydro design work and sometimes trenching or new conduit. You get one fixed quote for the civil and electrical work.
Yes. We attend site meetings, work from the lighting designer's drawings, and schedule rough-in and finish around the other trades.
