Services

Common jobs in Sidney

Most Sidney work is in condos, strata townhomes, marinas and the light-industrial area by the airport.

Condo & strata panel work

We replace old in-suite panels (including Federal Pioneer), work with strata councils and handle common-area distribution.

Panel upgrades

Service & repair for downsizers

Downsizing often means taking on someone else's wiring. We find the problems, fix them and give you a written safety report for your insurance file.

Residential service

Marina & commercial

Shore power pedestals, dock lighting and pump panels for the marine businesses around Tsehum Harbour, and tenant improvements on the Beacon Avenue retail strip.

Commercial services

EV chargers

Level 2 chargers for houses. For strata parkades where the service can't carry a charger per stall, we use an EV energy management system (EVEMS) to share the load.

Downtown & waterfront

Beacon Avenue, the Port Sidney Marina district, Seaport Place condos, and the numbered streets near Beacon Avenue.

Residential Sidney

Roberts Bay, Summergate Village, Amherst and Ardwell area homes, Reay Creek neighbourhoods, and the townhome clusters off Resthaven Drive.

Harbours & industrial

Tsehum Harbour and Van Isle Marina, the Mills Road corridor, and the light-industrial and aviation businesses around Victoria International Airport (YYJ).

Local knowledge

Sidney's housing stock

Much of Sidney went up in two waves: post-war ranchers through the 1960s and '70s, then condos in the downtown core from the 1990s on. In the ranchers we still find 60-amp services, aluminum branch wiring and panels with no room for a heat pump or induction range.

In the condos, nothing in the electrical room gets touched without strata council sign-off. Our founder has run crews in Greater Victoria since 2008 and knows that process.

Permit jobs are filed with Technical Safety BC under our contractor licence, and we book the inspection. For a panel upgrade or EV charger, we check which provincial rebates may apply before we quote, because the paperwork is easier before the work starts. We handle the electrical side of heat pump installs (the circuit, disconnect and panel capacity) and work with your heating contractor.

FAQ

Common questions

We're not booking work in Sidney yet. Service starts soon. Call (250) 882-5282 and we'll let you know when.

Yes. In-suite work needs the owner's authorization. For common property (shared panel rooms, parkade EV infrastructure, corridor lighting) we work with your strata council or property manager, send our insurance certificate up front and quote in writing so council can approve it in one meeting.

We do shoreside marina work in the harbours around Sidney: pedestals, feeders, dock lighting, pump and hoist circuits. Wiring on the boat itself goes to a marine electrician, and we'll refer you.

If it was built before 1980, yes. A pre-purchase electrical inspection finds undersized services, DIY work and panels with known problems, like Federal Pioneer, before you own them. Anything we find can be used in your negotiation.
